And, just like that…another holiday season, another set of restrictions.

For almost two years now, we’ve been riding an endless wave of anxiety, stress and worry, and the impact this has had on our mental health and well-being has been devastating.

To all the teachers who continue to feel overwhelmed and unsupported, we see you. To all the parents who continue to juggle evolving emotions, work and childcare, we see you. And, to all the youth who continue to feel isolated and lost, we see you. The pandemic has been unrelenting, and what we all need now more than ever is a break.

But, despite the rollercoaster of emotions and physical restrictions COVID-19 has imposed, I truly believe the pandemic has made us stronger and more resilient. I have witnessed this first hand among Actua’s network and staff, who, over the past year, continued to find hope in action. Their steadfast resolve and boundless creativity ensured we could reach the same number of youth and make the same invaluable impact as previous years. I am incredibly proud and forever grateful for their hard work, dedication and commitment.

On behalf of Actua and its network, I want to thank and acknowledge the parents, teachers and youth at the front lines of the pandemic. My wish for you, and everyone this holiday season, is that you get the break you all deserve. May you feel a sense of reprieve and find some time to focus on what matters most – your health, well-being and relationships.
