Actua’s summer camp experiences offer a mix of hands-on activities that showcase current innovations in a broad diversity of science, engineering and technology fields.

The following are examples of activities offered at camps:

• Exploring applications of renewable energy technologies by designing and building solar ovens, wind turbines and solar cars;
• Discovering the genetic code by extracting DNA from bananas and building alien creatures with unique characteristics; and
• Applying digital video production techniques to make a movie with special effects!

All camps are delivered by highly enthusiastic undergraduate university and/or college students. Many camps include great mentorship experiences where participants meet and interact with young professionals in fields many youth may never have even heard of before! Camps are delivered in co-ed or all-girls environments. Bursaries are available to subsidize camp costs for youth in need.
